A good turnout by Wessex at local races in the last few months, hopefully getting everyone in good shape for the upcoming RR10 season.
Six Wessex runners (myself, Kevin, Sameer, David H, Chris and Katie) completed the Winchester 10K in February. Weather just about held, as undulating as ever and always a pleasure to be able to walk to the start line from home.
Jim Rapley and myself ran the local Maverick race, the course using the South Downs / Itchen Way around Cheesefoot Head. Very well organised and I would recommend as an event for next year.
Another good turnout at the Eastleigh 10K (as above Jay, Phil, Tim, myself, Chris, Andrew and David H) in late March. Perfect conditions (other than a little windy) and a flat course produced some good times, Phil leading the way with a 43:51 time.
Please let me know if anyone running elsewhere and we can spread the word. First race of the 2024 RR10 season at Fleming Park, April 24th.
