The last race of the series
This was a tough race to finish the RR10’s with the always popular IBM race attracting 420 runners. Located just next to Hursley at IBM the positives of the location feature the cricket club house, spacious parking and set up area and a choice of different directions to drive from to the venue. The route was some very agreeable grass in and around lines of trees and woodland tracks but it also featured some not so agreeable gravel parts and hilly sections. The course was 2 loops with a finish on grass, and lots of runners seemed to be finding it hard to get the right pace and I think the muggy conditions made it difficult going for many.
We were sporting some very stylish new tops in addition to the recently aquired new flag, and we marked the occasion by making sure we achieved at team result in all of the races of the summer, truly impressive stuff! Initially we had 7 but Dave S tweaked his hamstring attempting a comeback, so that left 6 runners making it with Phil (104), Andrew (117), Chris (211), Kevin (216), David (217) and Richard (241) with good support as always from Peter.
